Tracking Your Progress — Two Places
Your progress is split in two: daily reading in the app, reviews in Anki.
Understanding Memory Strength (Anki Scheduling)
On your deck in Anki you always see three counters — these are Anki's own colors, same on desktop and mobile:
- New (blue): cards you haven't learned yet. Pressing Forget also turns a card New again.
- Learning (red): cards you're currently learning — including ones you recently pressed Again on.
- Review (green): learned cards that are due for review now.
How strong a memory is shows in the review interval: Anki calls a card young while its interval is under 21 days and mature once it reaches 21 days or more (Anki's default threshold). The longer the interval, the stronger the memory — days, then weeks, then months.
Check Anki → Stats (click the deck, then Stats) for retention, upcoming due cards, and the calendar heatmap.
What You Can Track
- Daily Portion (in the app): Anki Deck → Deck Statistics shows your mindmap, verse-group, and notes counts — see Anki Deck & Reviews for the breakdown.
- Reviews (in Anki): use the Browser and Stats:
- Fixing Mistakes for difficult and flagged cards
- Similar Verses for similar-verse checks
- How Reviews Work for due cards and maturity
Daily Reading Filters
Your daily progress follows the Active Part and the Surahs you checked in Daily Portion Settings. Changing the Active Part does not affect Anki due dates — Anki covers everything. To hide or show Surahs for reviews, suspend or unsuspend them in the Browser.
When to Reset
- Daily reading: Daily Portion → Settings → Reset This Part / Reset All.
- Reviews: in the Browser, select cards and choose Forget (makes them New again) or Reschedule (sets a new due date). Do this after deleting an outdated group card when you changed splits (see How Reviews Work).
